Sorry I’ve been MIA the last couple weeks. Mom life took hold and I have been swamped! We are moving – which is both exciting and sad for me. We have not found a new house yet, but we’re packing and staging our current home while we look. We will be showing it in less than 2 weeks, so life has been a bit hectic as of late! Kids, dogs, packing, cleaning…holy moly!
I’m excited to find a new house with more space for our family, but I am also sad as we close this chapter in our lives. I know I’m being silly, but Gabe was just a baby when we got our house. Sofia has never lived anywhere else. I know we will make our new (future) house into a home – but it is hard to say goodbye to a place we’ve made so many beautiful memories in and love so much. If anyone has any advice on how to move with young children – I would love it! Thanks in advance!
Ok – switching gears! Lets get to the fun stuff and talk about why you should shop the NORDSTROM Anniversary Sale now through August 6!
Being that I love sales, this one in particular was definitely on my radar and is each year. If you had early access – it was amazing! The good news is, they did restock a lot of great items! So even if you missed out on early access, hopefully you still snagged some great stuff! Some of my favorite items from the sale are below. Let me know if you have any questions about the sizing, style, etc. Happy to help my fellow sale lovers out there! xo
Have you seen this sweatshirt? It is so comfy and cute! The inside is super soft and the slit at the neck is perfect (not to mention reinforced so it won’t rip). You can snag this at the Nordstrom Anniversary sale now – and I would recommend getting it before it sells out!
For reference, I’m sporting a size small and it hits a little below the waist. It is not a long sweatshirt, but it is casual fit and very cozy.
I love the fact that it looks great with jeans , workout pants, yoga pants, shorts and more. Being black, I feel like it’s a dressier sweatshirt (if there is such a thing – lol), perfect for running errands in comfort. Clearly I’m a fan.
Now let’s take a look at this Adidas Relaxed Fit Tank, shall we? I have worn this so many times already – and I just got it! This relaxed fit tank is perfect for actually working out – AND – lounging. As I mentioned above, we’re moving, which means lots of packing! Packing with toddlers is hard and I am on the move a lot right now. This tank has been lovely for this process. I’ve also lifted weights and done cardio in it.
Did I mention that it is on sale right now and SO worth it! Honestly – it is a must – and I might have to get a second one given the sale price! For reference, I’m in an XS. If you want it to be roomier – you can definitely size up as it is meant to be a relaxed fit tank.
Leggings!!! Who doesn’t love leggings!?! These Spanx Faux Leather Leggings
are a serious staple in my closet – and have been for a while. I already owned these fantastic leggings – and when I found out they were part of the Nordstrom Anniversary sale – I made sure to get another pair!
They are faux leather leggings and look amazing with everything.
I have them in XS and they fit beautifully!
They are high waisted so they don’t create a muffin top, they look dressy enough to wear with a tunic (see floral tunic here), but you can also dress them down and sport cute flats and a more casual top (paired with sweatshirt below)!
I personally love these leggings with a cute plaid shirt like this Treasure & Bond Relaxed Open Back Plaid Shirt
or even a peplum like this Chelsea28 Bell Sleeve Sweater in red
. They are also crazy comfy and easy to chase kids in – BONUS! I had them on for my kids birthday party and they were not only cute – but I was able to jump in the bounce house with them! Ha!
Lastly, this Halogen Studded Stretch Belt.
You guys – it is SO cute! I had iton last night with a sun dress and it was perfect. It is very versatile, the studs are small so the belt works with patterns or solids, and the back is stretchy so it fits beautifully instead of feeling (and looking) restrictive. This will work well on hot days with light weight tunics and dresses, and will continue to be a staple into the fall and winter months with heavier tunics, sweaters, sweater dresses and more. Definitely take a look while it’s still on sale! For reference, I got it in a small/medium.
This Fries Before Guys Sweatshirt
is cute, soft, flattering, and comfortable. It does run a tag small in my opinion, so if you want it roomier, size up. You can see from the photo that it isn’t tight or fitted – but it’s also not an oversized baggy sweatshirt.
I’m only 5’2″ and it isn’t very long on me. I got it in an XS/Small for reference. It’s still on sale (for now) and definitely worth it!
Also in the photo above are these amazing Halogen Corbin Slide Loafers
! They are so cute and very comfortable. I wasn’t 100% sold on these from the photo, but when I got them in the mail and tried them on, I was in LOVE! I’m getting them in the other 2 colors (available in silver and wheat). These can be thrown on with jeans or a tunic dress – so they are very versatile! I hope you can snag these before they are sold out!
This closeup should help you see how pretty these shoes are!
My clutch is by Leith is is currently sold out. I’m in love with it and hope that it’s back in stock soon for post sale folks to snag. That being said, check out this Sole Society Jemma Suede Clutch –
that is still on sale and very similar in style and comes in oxblood which is a perfect fall color!
Another great option that isn’t part of the anniversary sale but is a crazy deal – is this Bp. Tonal Stripe Foldover Clutch –
! It comes in 3 colors black, silver and stone) and is only $25!
This Sole Society ‘Marlena’ Faux Leather Foldover Clutch –
is another very pretty option and is a total steal at regular price! It comes in black and used to come in brown – so keep an eye out for other colors that may be back in stock soon!
Have fun checking out the sale! I hope you are able to snag some great buys that will carry you from hot days to cool! Please comment with any questions – I’m happy to help!
It’s summer which means sunshine, backyard BBQ’s, running around keeping the kiddos busy, and DRESSES! I am a huge fan of summer dresses – especially because it tends to feel like fall most of the year in San Francisco!
The sun is out – and I intend to take full advantage with sundresses galore! In honor of BBQs and sunshine – I’ve pulled together some of my favorite mustard yellow dresses so you can “put some mustard on it!” Ha!
I’m crushing hard on this off the shoulder mustard maxi dress! It’s from Forever 21 and is under $30. That being said – they just sold out! Arg! So….I’ve linked to other beautiful mustard options and super cute accessories below! Not to mention a little PSA about the upcoming Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and early access this Thursday! WHAT?!? Keep reading for more info – and let me know if you have any questions. I know I’ll be shopping the sale for some AMAZING deals! 😉 XO
This cutie dress from ASOS in on sale right now for under $50. The eyelets are so pretty and I love the midi length. Off the shoulder dresses are everywhere right now and perfect for summer. Stock for this dress is low so snag it soon!
Thank you Lulus for this Magical Movement Mustard Yellow beauty! This dress is made of a lightweight woven rayon with an elasticized halter neckline which makes it very comfortable. It has a wrapping triangle bodice, sassy back (or should I say no back at all), a flowing maxi skirt with high slit, and a sash to finish it off. Can you tell I’m smitten? It’s under $50 and will definitely turn heads! As with all things at Lulus, get it before it sells out!
Ruffles, ruffles, everywhere! How sweet is this ruffle mustard yellow dress? You can show off a little leg while staying super comfortable in this little number. Personally, I love how it’ll work with some wrap flats or wedges. You can get it on sale for $30 right meow!
It’s hard not to swoon when you see this adorable mustard yellow ruffle hem bardot dress! It has an elastic relaxed fit with an elastic waist and tassels to complete the look. I can literally chase my kids in this easy going dress – and then throw on some cute shoes and earrings for date night with my boo! It’s under $50 but sizes are going fast!
Accessories:
I paired my mustard maxi from Forever 21 (in the top photo) with this clutch from Charade. It has beautiful floral embroidery with beaded and sequin accents. It also has a shoulder chain if you don’t want to hold it like a clutch. The flap top has a magnetic snap-button closure with a tassel accent, and the interior has a slip pocket. It pairs perfectly with solids – I’ve worn it with my mustard dresses, white summer dresses, jeans with a white off shoulder top, and more! It’s also on sale for $30.40 – so snag it before it’s gone!
For your beach going needs – or simply running errands (hello farmers market) – I have the bag for you! This Bp. Slouchy Straw Tote
is roomy with the cutest tassels and a zip top. I don’t use my diaper bags much anymore, but I do love a roomy tote that fits the toddler essentials (diapers, wipes, sippy cups, random toys, etc). I’m obsessed with how cute this is. It’ll match so many summer outfits – and it’s under $50!
These Sam Edelman Sheri Sandal
are perfect for summer! They come in putty and black suede, so if you get both colors (which you should since I know you need them), you’ll be able to match everything! The heel is 2.5″ which is perfect for running after your littles – but still sassy with the wraps and a little height. They are on sale at Nordstrom for under $90 and so worth it!
I’m completely obsessed with these Jessica Simpson Reilynn Woven Sandal
s. They come in 3 colors, but the warm taupe suede (linked) is my favorite for versatility. They have pretty woven straps and an easy zip back with a tassel. They have a nice 3.5″ heel which is stacked for comfort. These are perfect paired with jeans, skirts, dresses and more. Not to mention they are 50% off – and under $60 – right now at Nordstrom!
These Nine West Gweniah Ghillie Lace Gladiator Sandals
may be my favorites of the season. I have no idea how to express my love for these – but I can say you need them – STAT! These have a 3″ stacked heel and a comfortable lightly cushioned footbed. The cutouts and lacing make these heels special – and the fact that they are 35% off is a bonus!
These Kate Spade New York Pretty Pom Tassel Drop Earrings
are so fun! Look at the colors – how festive are these? They look perfect with a mustard dress or top – but can be worn as a pop of color with many other outfits. Get your sassy self on and sport these earrings. Life is too short to wear boring accessories! 😉 And they are 40% off! What?!? Muah!
If you’re looking for something a little more neutral, don’t worry, I haven’t forgotten you. These Panacea Tassel Drop Earrings
are gold and white. They are a little more delicate in style, but still have the tassels. They are only $32, so you can get these and the Kate Spade pretty poms to fit any mood or style! Yay!
Since these are the sunglasses in my photo above – I feel like I should include them. These Oversize Mirrored Sunglasses
are so cute and only $12. They go with everything, and I get asked about them all the time. There’s a sale for sunglasses under $100 at NORDSTROM
, and if you filter by price, you can find the sunglasses that are on sale and under $20.
Don’t forget the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is starting soon! For those of you with a Nordstrom credit card – or Nordstrom Debit card (YES it does exist) – you get early access starting this Thursday! That is a whole week before everyone else gets to shop the sale. That is huge because you’ll get to shop before the sale gets picked over!
They just phased out the Nordstrom Debit card – BUT – if you already have one it still works and you still get early access! 🙂 That being said – they still have their AMAZING Nordstrom Credit Card available – soooooo…..Go to NORDSTROM.com and get your card today for early access!!! Trust me – you don’t want to miss out on the incredible deals on upcoming fall items! I’m crazy excited about snagging some new boots and bags – ON SALE – before anyone else! And if you have a triple points day left – don’t forget to schedule it for your shop day! I know I’m not the only one out there who loves a good deal – so take a peak – have fun – and ENOY! XOXO
Happy Mommy Monday! I don’t know about you, but I love learning about new products from my fabulous friends and fave bloggers! To share the love, I’m spilling my purse and sharing some of my favorite beauty finds.
Having 2 young kiddos, our sweet dogs, and a million activities to shuffle the family to at any given time – I am usually pretty tired. My uniform usually includes a messy bun or baseball cap, yoga pants, and a zip up sweatshirt. In my rush to get out the door on time, I have perfected my “slap dash mommy makeup” regimen. These are the must have items I use on a daily basis (unless I’m really super duper late – then it’s mascara and coffee for the win). I hope you give these products a try – I know you’ll love them!
Benefit Goof Proof Brow Pencil – I am NOT a brow expert – and this brow pencil has saved me! I’ve tried several over the years and this is by far my favorite! There’s 2 ends to make it easy. Use the wide part of the tip to shape and fill, and use the pointed edge to define the outer end of your brows. Blend with the brush on the other end for full, natural-looking brows.
Benefit Browvo Conditioning Eyebrow Primer – Due to my brow needs, I use the conditioning eyebrow primer. It helps make my brows healthier and fuller. I use this at night before bed, although you can also use it as a
primer to extend and enhance your other brow products – or use it alone to condition and smooth your brows. For $10 more than this single item costs, you can get an entire Benefit Defined & Refined Brows Kit –
totally worth it – especially if like a fantastic deal and want to try some new products (that you’ll love)!
bareMinerals Eyecolor in Celestine – This is my favorite eye color right now. It has enough shimmer to make me feel polished, but is still neutral enough to sport when I’m running errands. It is very hard for me to explain how lovely this eye color is. It looks simple and not very exciting – until you try it on! When you see on on your skin – you will understand the color. I have hazel eyes and I truly think this color would work with brown, blue or green. It is sophisticated and understated – and it’s on major SALE right now!
Almay Liquid Eyeliner – I am a huge eyeliner snob and totally fine admitting it! I get a lot of questions about how I do my eyeliner – so I’m sharing my fave liner product! I’ve tried many many brands that all promise to do a perfect job. I always go back to Almay liquid liner. It has the perfect tip that allows me to be precise every time. Personally, I like it best when the tip has been broken in a bit (after about a week or so), making it more flexible and easy to handle. I can do a heavier line for a night on the town, or a light line for running around with my kids. I’m obsessed with this eyeliner and have learned not to stray. Not to mention it’s under $8 which is a bargain for perfect liquid liner! If interested in a tutorial – please comment and I’ll put it on my list of future posts! 🙂
Benefit Hoola Matte Bronzing Powder, Size 0.28 oz – Bronze – Ok…I love bronzing powder! San Francisco tends to have a lot of fog (arg), and even when I’m in the sun, I use a lot of
sunscreen (yay for being good to our skin)! I used to think all bronzers were created equal. That is NOT the case. Some are too orange, some are too pink, others have way too much sparkle (no I don’t want to look 14 decked out in glitter). That being said – Hoola is my FAVE bronzing powder ever! They have absolutely nailed the color. It’s sun-kissed perfection! Try it – I know you will love it!
As for other things in my bag that I ALWAYS have on hand…
Lip moisturizer – Yes I am a lip gloss lover, but I think a lip moisturizer that also has shine is a big win, especially when you’re on the go! I really like Blistex Silk & Shine because it has a nice light flavor and leaves my lips feeling super soft. I can also kiss my kids without leaving sticky color spots all over their cute little cheeks! Ha!
Sunglasses – These Junior Women’s Bp. 52Mm Oversize Mirrored Sunglasses –
have been my go to’s as of late – and I love them! They are only $12 and I’m obsessed! You can find some seriously cute sunnies (and other amazing sale items) right now for under $100 by clicking here! FREE Shipping. FREE Returns.
Happy shopping and I hope this helps you find some new fave items for your own bag!
XOXO
Happy Mommy Monday! Today I want to talk about Summer. This time of year is my favorite for so many reasons! The sun, family activities, BBQs, long walks with my kids and dogs, and the DRESSES! My collection of sundresses has grown recently – due to way too many cute ones out there! Arg! Why are there so many adorable options!?! The fantastic news is the ones I’ve found and love are a steal!
This is a roundup of my favorite summer dresses, kids outfits and accessories in Red, White and Blue so you can get ready for the 4th of July without breaking the bank! That being said, I like to get the most bang for my buck, so most of my picks can be worn the rest of the summer, not just for the 4th! Read on for details – and ENJOY! XOXO
This cutie linen dress is white with light blue stripes. It’s strapless and has a flounce front that gives it movement. It has an elastic waist and comes with a belt tie in the same fabric – but looks perfect with a belt to as well. I’m short and feel boxy in certain dresses, so a belt was a must for me. The fabric is light and very comfortable. This dress is adorable with wedges or flats – and can be dressed up or down with accessories. I was able to run after Sofia all day in comfort and style! The best part is this dress is only $45! The price and cuteness made it a no brainer for me…because I have such good self control to begin with! 😉
As a side note – I had a bit of a twinning moment with Sofia, who is wearing a Baby Gap white dress with blue stripes. I love matching my little ones when I can – and take full advantage while they are young and willing to match mommy! Ha! For reference, I’m in the size Small.
As for Sofia’s dress, it’s no longer available at the Gap but I found a blue smock dress that is on sale, and a beautiful crochet double layer dress that I’m obsessed with (also on sale)! Both would look so pretty on your little – especially when you’re in this white/blue dress! 🙂
This cutie dress is blue with white stripes. It is off the shoulder, has a flounce front, and a side zip. It has a nice shape that shows off your waist without being too tight, and a comfortable skirt that moves and flows. This dress can easily be dressed up or down, depending on the occasion.
Did I mention it is only $40 and a total steal! I plan to sport this all Summer long – but it is a win for me that it also works for the 4th! Yay! Just for reference, I’m in a size Small and it is still has room.
Next up is this fun little number in navy. It’s cute, has a very appropriate front, and a fun flirty back! I belted this dress because I like a more defined waist.
It is extremely comfortable and is perfect for a picnic in the park. I wore this to soccer practice for my kiddos and was able to run around with them in the playground and park afterwards. Talk about comfy and cute!
I love the navy color because you can sport this for the 4th just by adding a red statement necklace, bangles, or shoes! You can also wear this all summer long with different accessories. The best part about this dress is that it’s only $42! For reference, I’m wearing a Small. Snag it before it’s no longer in stock!
This is one of my absolute favorite dresses right now! It’s red, white and blue all in one! It’s also off the shoulder, crazy comfy, and has removable straps. The red embroidery is beautiful, and the flouncy sleeves are so cute! Can you tell I’m in love! It’s currently out of stock but I love it so much that I’m including it in this roundup so you can keep an eye out for a restock! If you like these blue stripes with red embroidery, Francesca’s also has some super sweet shorts that are perfect for the 4th! Not to mention they are on sale for under $15 (sale ends on 6/28)!
This fun striped dress and chambray vest were perfect for our outing to visit some farm friends! To me – these stripes and the red, white and blue combo say -Happy 4th!!!!
This t-shirt dress is form fitting but very stretchy and comfortable. The front and back dip down a little bit which is nice for a little extra coverage when you’re running around town (or after kids). The vest is versatile, comfortable, has POCKETS, and can easily be paired with other dresses, skirts, shorts, etc. To me, that is a big win! The dress is a bargain at $36 and the vest is $48. I am sporting a small in both -and they fit perfectly. Comfy, not too tight, with enough room to chase after Gabe and Sofia! Ha!
For a white, light and airy dress – this one may be your pick! It’s currently 40% off at Nordstrom and is so pretty on! It has a tie front (which you can adjust), smocked back that gives it a comfortable fit, a midi-length perfect for a family outing, and a sweet eyelet embroidery to finish it off. I personally don’t think a bra is an option in this dress, so keep that in mind as you look at this design. It’s currently on sale for $53.40 and can truly be worn for almost any Summer occasion! For reference, I’m in an extra small.
This blue and white boho maxi has the prettiest pattern on it! Perfect for Summer, and perfect for the 4th!
It can be dressed up or down, worn with flats, wedges or heels, belted or left alone, and you can add a splash of red to really show off in July!
It is a high-low dress with flutter off the shoulder sleeves and an elastic waist. It’s very flattering on, flows nicely, and is perfect to simply throw on and go! Not to mention it’s only $46!
Truthfully, this would be perfect for a brunch with the girls, lunch with your honey, on vacation, or even a picnic! For reference, I’m sporting a small in this one.
If you’re looking for something with long sleeves, this is it! This seersucker dress is blue and white, super sweet, and has the cutest flounce sleeves! As I’m sure you’ve already noticed, I like belting my dresses to give myself more of a waist, but you don’t have to. I actually think a red belt could be perfect for the 4th and would give this dress a little splash of fun!
It has a zip back, high neck, is light weight, and has a really lovely shape to it. This front view shows the sleeves a little better than the side view. Really cute detail!
This classy little Summer dress is a wonderful option for the 4th, and would pair perfectly with a statement necklace due to the higher neckline. It’s $39 (which is ridiculous for how cute it is) – and I’m wearing the small for reference.
Now for some quick momma accessories!
These faux leather toe ring sandals are super comfy, cute, and look WAY more expensive than they are! I’ve had people ask if I got them at JCrew – which I take as a huge compliment since they are under $10! I love them so much that I got them in 3 colors! And I was able to get them all because they are only $9.90 from Forever 21! Obsessed!!! Please see if you can still snag these – you won’t be sorry! 🙂
I’ve worn these sunnies a lot lately and have gotten a lot of questions about them. They are from Nordstrom and are only $12. I mean – how can you even consider not getting these?
Speaking of another item I’ve worn a lot lately…this belt! It’s 2.5″ wide, leather, has a slim buckle strap, scalloped trim with laser cutouts that give you a tinier looking waist, with a stretchy panel in the back for comfort/fit. I’ve worn this with almost every dress listed in this roundup (as I’m sure you’ve notice – haha), it’s super comfortable, and it looks really pretty! 🙂 Not to mention it’s 40% off at Nordstrom right now – for $29.40!
Ok party people! Now for some fun options for the kiddos!
If it isn’t already obvious – I love off the shoulder dresses! I found this adorable little red dress for my daughter at Target and it is PERFECT for the 4th! It’s an A-Line eyelet dress by Genuine Kids from OshKosh. The material is soft but sturdy, so it can hold up to a toddler on the go. The shoulders can be worn off the shoulder or on, and the length is perfect so they can run around. I’m in love with this cutie dress – can you tell? It’s currently $19.99 at Target – and seems to fit pretty true to size.
I have to give a shout out to Gymboree for having a fantastic sale right now! The whole store is $12.99 and under (not sure for how much longer) – and it is SO worth checking out! I’ve pulled together a couple outfits (some in this flat lay and some not) using fun items that I got on my last Gymboree visit.
The dress is blue and white with red stars. The back is criss cross (adorable), and it comes with bloomers. Super comfy cotton
fabric makes for a perfect dress for your toddlers 4th of July fun in the sun! I got it on sale for $12.99 and it is so worth it!
If your little one prefers shorts and a tank on a hot day – these
will do the trick! The shorts are $9.99 on sale, and the top is the same! Super cute, festive, and perfect if it’s super hot out and they want to run and play! Not to mention those popsicle shorts are too cute for words…
These red cargo shorts are wonderful for the 4th! Because they are solid, a lot of different tops can be worn with these shorts so you can get more wear out of them 🙂 I sized up for my son since they have an adjustable waist. I intend to use these a lot! Snagged these on sale for $12.99!
What do you pair with red shorts? A super cute top! This chambray star shirt is fun, festive and can be dressed up or down due to the collar. It’s $12.99 and is a total steal! I’m a big fan of all things chambray…I can’t help myself!
If you want a more versatile shirt that can be used more easily after the 4th, this top is the perfect shade of blue! It’s also a soft and light 100% cotton jersey top – which is perfect for playing outside all day or going to lunch with the fam! This option is currently $9.99 (while sale lasts).
As for accessories, you can get this cutie bracelet for under $5 – and it shouts Happy 4th! They have a crystal one as well that Sofia loves and it matches EVERYTHING!
These star and flag sunglasses are both $5.99 and are perfect for some fun in the sun!
No roundup would be complete without shoes!
These little eyelet espadrilles are everything! I’m obsessed – as is my baby girl. In fact, she’s not even 2 and she picked them out herself! #mommasgirl #proudmomma
They are on sale for $12.99 (for now) so snag them ASAP! They match everything and instead of a buckle they used velcro – LOVE!!! They don’t come in half sizes but they do seem to run a tiny bit big so I went with her actual size and there is a little room to grow. Might have to get them in a size larger while they are still on sale (for future use)!
If you’re looking for shoes in red – got ya covered! Check these little cuties out! Yup…on sale for $12.99 (originally $44.95) – and they are perfection for the 4th! Come on – the stars even sparkle! 😉
Ok – I must stop! I hope this roundup helps you and your family get 4th of July ready without breaking the bank! Enjoy these finds and wear them all Summer long!
XOXO
Dressing your body post baby can be frustrating but also fun. It all comes down to finding things that flatter your new figure.
I am definitely not 100% back to normal. My boobs are still huge (and they expand as I get closer to pumping or nursing). My butt has some extra cushion and my tummy isn’t as tight as it once was.
No matter…enter the Little Black Dress (LBD). Every woman needs a couple of LBDs that look and feel great for work, weddings, cocktails, date night etc.
My husband and I just got back from a friend’s wedding. It was our first trip away from baby (I cried the entire way to the airport), and I wasn’t sure what to bring to this formal event. Weddings are a wonderful place to see people you care about and take photos…but after having a baby all I wanted was to look and feel good.
This photo was taken on my way out the door to the wedding. I chose a black strapless dress with a shrug and a flower belt. I felt great in this outfit – which is the whole point when you need to dress up after having a baby. You want – and NEED – to feel good when you are going out on the town. I personally tried on 10 different dresses before settling on this.
A couple reasons I chose this outfit:
Some of the reasons listed above are tips that should help you pick out a LBD. Again, black is slimming and works well for almost any event from date night to the office. Be careful with zippers because they can get uncomfortable as you fill up with milk. Elastic is great at the waist and bust. Use a belt to make your waist look smaller! It’s a great trick and really works well.
My biggest tip for finding the right LBD is COMFORT! Don’t pick something that you’ll fidget in. If you feel good, you’ll look good. If you fidget and feel uncomfortable, it’ll show.
Halters are another great way to dress your post baby bod. They help support your bust, create a nice silhouette, and I personally think they are pretty comfortable. Depending on the halter, you should be able to sport a strapless bra or a bra with a neck strap to help keep “the girls” under control.
If you’re looking for more of an everyday way to dress your bod while you lose the baby weight (which is a process – so don’t stress out) – tunics are a big win! Personally, I used my maternity jeans and black pants for the first couple months while my body started to lose weight. Black pants are slimming, and jeans are comfy.
Tunics are a big win because there are so many options out there (casual, comfy, dressy, fun) and they aren’t clingy which helps to keep from feeling self conscious. Some tunics are best with jeans or black pants – but others are long enough to wear with leggings or tights so it’s almost like a dress. Personally – I like options and to get the most bang for my buck…so if I can use different colored pants or leggings/tights with the same top for different looks – it’s a BIG win!
Having some flowy tops on hand in a couple of styles will help you feel more confident as you settle into mommy hood and allow your body to recover. I’ve included these photos to help you style yourself post baby.
Lastly – SPANX! I can’t tell you how much I love I have for my SPANX pants and leggings. OMG! I have them in a black pencil pant, in a jeggings style pant, and faux leather leggings. They are all fantastic and I use them all the time. I even have some workout pants from SPANX that have a skirt up top to hide my bum, pull in the tummy, and make me feel good enough to run errands or get my sweat on! Woot!
Comfort is key – but don’t forget – you can still look good 😉
I hope this helps! More later lovelies! xo
